Messing around in Modo again this weekend, Mr. Ablan's book "The Official Luxology modo Guide" is a get way to learn is 3D modeling program. Anyways here is the traffic light tutorial I have been working on.

Going back in Maya for Modeling is now a pain, Modo is just too much fun.

Beat Grids and Updates
It's been some a while since I have posted on here, lets just say me and WordPress have had a fight and I lost. So now I have purchased RapidWeaver from RealMac Software for my blogging needs. The software has nice options for plugging in your own code and some really neat 3rd party plug-ins and themes. I am still learning this thing since it was downloaded yesterday but I think I will be able to do some really nice stuff with it.

Since the weather has turned bad, I have been also working on my music mixing in Traktor DJ Studio 3. Synchronizing downbeats has been a real problem for me, until I discovered BeatGrid which allows to push and pull the BPM through the whole song. The downside with this is it takes 30 mins per song to do this right, so there goes sat night.

Anyways expect more updates soon.

Now things get fun

Still plugging away at Modo and some Maya work, things are going to get faster and faster now that all the hardware is in. I am definitely starting to understand all the keyboard shortcuts and fun stuff that Modo has to offer.

Guns in Modo

The more I use Modo the more I like it, Maya’s UI has always had some issues, you had to code yourself any modeling shortcuts and there is no realtime render. Modo on the other hand has some cool tricks, such as being able to attach any rotation point or new point above a surface. Basicly this means for example if I want to cut a hole in a ball, I can trace new points on top of the ball that automaticly lock on to the points bellow.
I am making a Ar-15 in Modo, just started the Riffling.

Modo...is different but good
The past week I have been working with Modo from Luxology. I had no real plans in learning another peice of 3d software, however after seeing all the high quality renders, and claims of a fast workflow, I decied to give it a shot. The interface is different, everything is slightly off when you think of it in terms of Maya. The good news is it is a better modeler and it’s render engine is easier to deal with than alias mental block ray. After going through a bit of the manual I made the following images.
